Curtain Poles | Door Curtain Poles and Dormer Rods
Dormer and Door Curtain RodsDoor curtain rods, or portieres, are the ideal solution to keep draughts from old or ill fitting doors. Portieres can be simply hinged or can be made to rise as the door opens lifting the curtain off the floor. The types that rise are known as rising portieres. They are available in white, brass or bronze finishes. Dormer window dressingsDormer tracks or drapery arms are made to allow curtains to hang within dormer windows where the glazing goes to the edge of the dormer. Normal practice is to use two tracks in a window. The tracks, complete with curtains are then just swung to the sides to open them.Wrought iron portiere rangeThe wrought iron portieres can also be used as dormer poles if a matt black artisan look is required. These particular poles are produced by craftsmen in the UK. They have a long wall hinge making them capable of supporting a curtain over their 100cm length. They also have an adjustment feature allowing the pole to be slightly raised at the point where it joins the hinge, thus enabling perfect curtain hanging. |
